Betcha she growled as the shot was snapped too.
*chuckle*
Accourse I might not be as countrified as I thought, because I had to view properties to figure out what the heck she was holding.
(Tieing dinner’s footsies together works just as well as a brick, I reckon. Be a shame to kill it and THEN it runs away!)

I grew up on a farm and we had chickens, pigs, cattle, sheep, guineas, ducks, geese, and a few turkeys. We always had fresh meat and eggs.
I’d love to raise a few chickens, but as others have noted, the HOA would have a fit. There were a few up the road from us for a few weeks. Someone must have complained.

Actually, we have a property owners’ association (POA) and they have strict rules too. Then there are city ordinances against some things - like parking boats & RVs next to or behind homes - HAVE to be on slabs or behind a fence. They can be parked in front on the driveway anytime.
One guy had a three prop cigarette boat that stretched from his garage door almost to the street. It was also in the line of sight to see if anything was coming around the curve. The city eventually made him move it, since it was beyond his property line.

I suppose it couldnt be done now, people would complain of the noise. We do it. We've got around 45 chickens, two of which are Roo's. None of our neighbors complain. They don't even complain about the smell.

Why not? The illegal aliens do.
