What is it that I’m missing here. The guy is 18 years old. What is the legal age of consent in Iowa, 35? Why are the police getting involved? I can see improper conduct between teacher and student, but shouldn’t that be between the school and the teacher? Somebody help me here.
It is an abuse-of-government-power thing. You know, like a President schtupping a white house intern.
Some states do not permit sex between a student and a teacher, even if that student is 18 and legally an adult. It’s all about power and the fact that someone in authority (a teacher or an administrator) can have an adverse influence over a student — “You either have sex with me or I’ll fail you.”
