Me too. A quick painful story. I’m a plant tech for a large cable TV company. One of the local high schools in my area called Thursday because the cable was out and they wanted to watch the Messiah be coronated. They haven’t used the service ever. I had to spend all day yesterday in zero degree weather repairing the service so they could watch the silliness on Tuesday. I was not happy to say the least

The only TV I’ve watched the past few days has been TWC to monitor “Global Warming”, and the plane in the Hudson. I just put on espn for a few minutes to watch previews of tomorrow’s football games, but switched it off when they went to a segment on Tiger Woods now becoming political.
I hope there is MINIMAL coverage of this farce during the football games on Sunday.
Once the games are over, I will shut the TV down, continue not reading any newspapers, and try to stay off the internet too, for a couple of days.

I have a multi-tired strategy. No TV, of course, several, and I do mean several servings of whatever adult beverage I can get my hands on and off to bed early. I don’t even think I should go online that day less I accidentally click on a link with a video or pictures of the “event.”

I’m making pasta, sauce and pies all weekend and Tuesday I will be painting my kitchen.
Wearing all black that day, get some bon bons and watch the entire series of “24”.
I’ll be doin important stuff like cleaning out belly button lint, watching paint dry and making bets with myself on how long before we get hit again (and as a bonus, once that happens, waiting to see how long it takes the left to blame Bush)..
I will be nowhere near a TV. I will be on convoy duty with the National Guard most of next week.
Many of my fellow Guardsmen share my opinion: we are so screwed. There are dozens of us deploying to the sandbox in a few months, and now we aren’t sure what will happen.
At least I take my orders from the Governor, and not The One (piss be upon him) - he’s not MY commander-in-chief, yet.
I’m planning a Simpsons, South Park, King of the Hill marathon. I have Iron Man and Sleeper from NetFlix and haven’t cracked open my copy of The Dark Knight yet either.
