Jan. 23) - Not everyone was happy with President Barack Obama's nod to nonbelievers and non-Christians in his inaugural address. And some of the stiff criticism about Obama’s religious inclusiveness is coming from African-American Christians who maintain that no, all faiths were actually not created equal. "For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness," the new president said. "We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this earth," he also said. Nothing too controversial, proclaiming that America's strength lies in its diversity. But between those two statements, the new president got specific: "We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers." Inauguration Remark Draws Fire

"For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness."

The patches are our Judeo-Christian heritage. The seams are Islam. If a society is to be torn apart, you start at the seams.

My brother-in-law is agnostic, and as much as I would like to see him a Christian, he is every bit a citizen of this country as I am.

I suspect he felt a tiny bit grateful to get a nod from Obama, even if he is a staunch Ron Paul supporter! LOL

I do not like the fact he is touting inclusiveness, We were founded on Christian beliefs (like or not) the principles our law were based on is The Bible.

It shows a lack of character? How?

Attack his character for legitimate reasons. His constant lying, willingness to steal from hard workers to give it to the lazy, etc etc.

Nonbelievers are a growing segment of the population. Democrats already control most minority groups, we can't lose more.
