Are you kidding? Obama is perceived as weak by the Middle Eastern countries. There are already two Americans being held hostage. Obama is a socialist, just like Carter. Obama is going to meet with Chavez, just like Carter. The sub prime mortgage mess was actually started by Carter and pushed to the limit by Obama’s ACORN. A big difference, though, are the interest rates which topped 18% under Carter and are down near zero for the Zero. Another difference is that Carter sent his daughter to public school and the Obama kids have never attended a public school, but neither did their father.

Both are raging idiots and, hopefully, both were/will be one term “wonders”.

Wonder how they got elected?

I hope I am wrong, but I am all but convinced that we are near a full blown Depression. Strangely, I am no longer worried about it though.

There are worse things than going through a depression. This country came out of the Great Depression and fought WW2, emerging as a superpower. Hopefully, the adverse circumstances will return us to our roots rather than expose our decay.

I see more similarity with Clinton in this way: their wives, though unelected, have both sought to be part of their husbands administrations in order to push their own agendas.

See the tagline I’ve been running for the last 6-9 months or so.

Ever notice the similarities between Presidents Carter and Obama?

Both had this relaxed, cool personable appeal.

Both ran as Beltway outsiders wanting change.

Both misunderstood and underestimated Iran.

Both tried to cast themselves as intellectual and diplomatic, but Carter got us into some real jams and Biden predicts...

Both reached out in bipartisanship... turning their backs when Repubs went for it.

Both want to spend away our problems. But, I think, Obama is Carter on steroids. Are we in for Stagflation again?

Both got the nomination by coaligning every fringe group into a majority coalition. These campaign promises caused several immediate and questionable Executive Orders.

Both took stances against Israel.

Both ran on platitudes and abstract rhetoric, and found it difficult to implement after election.

Both lost control of their own party after inauguration.

Both are one term “wonders”.

‘Ever notice the similarities between Presidents Carter and Obama?’

Only for the past year and a half....everything you note is dead on target.

I think making this link is imperative. The American public looks at Obama and thinks of the Clinton years. They don’t mind the corruption, moral failure, dismantling of our military and intelligence (where WMDs in Iraq first became an issue) and selling missile guidance technology to China. Carville was right, “It’s the economy, stupid!” And the American public stupidly want the Clinton years back again. They don’t realize they will get Carter instead.

Yep. Just let a gas shortage happen, just one time, and the American people will see all that old footage I lived through in my teens and early twenties.
