BY LISA DONOVAN Staff Reporter

A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday night, hours after he was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his Evanston elementary school.

The fifth-grader was found about 3 p.m. at Oakton Elementary School, 436 Ridge Ave., where he was reportedly hanging from a hook.

Elliott Lieteau, a school janitor, told reporters that school staff “had pulled him off the hook,” a detail authorities couldn’t confirm. Lieteau added that staff said the boy was on the hook for about 10 minutes and that’s when Lieteau tried to resuscitate the boy.

That leaves more questions that answers. How does the janitor know how long the kid was on the hook?
