If one had an old swimming pool and a garden, why not use the water in it for the garden on a daily basis and you would not need to use the chlorine in it.
Water is the first thing we will loose.
Our local Police scanner, early this morning said the electric was off in several areas and soon the tanks would be dry at the water company, plus there was a major leak in the water line for the same area.
How easy it is to want a backup water supply.
We passed the 4,000 posts mark this morning, new people coming to read all the time, and we miss all of you being here.

About 10% water exchange a week is all that is usually needed to keep it clear.
Thanks, Granny, I’ve been reading for a while and have picked up some tidbits that I’ve filed away. Ever since I’ve been a kid, I’ve thought that someday we would live in this country like it was the 1700’s, if you know what I mean. I’ve tried to be thrify all these years, even when I didn’t have to for financial reasons.
My thoughts always run to “what if we had absolutely nothing” and the way it looks, I may have to find out!!!
