I dont adopt any animal,I buy thm. Refering to animals as adopted is a PETA move.
People are adopted.
You’re welcome to your own language choices, but the word adopt is used for more than bringing a child into one’s family.
Such as:
“When did you choose to adopt the moniker ‘chickensoup?’”
“I actually drove by an Adopt-a-Highway sign sponsored by Atheists United, so that caught my attention.”
