Jimmy Carter and the Camp David Myth
The Wall Street Journal ^ | February 13, 2009 | Arthur Herman

Will Jimmy Carter be President Barack Obama's role model on how to bring peace to the Middle East?

Some, especially in Israel, view that prospect with apprehension. Others, like Ralph Nader, have greeted the possibility with enthusiasm, urging Mr. Obama to rely on Mr. Carter's "wise and seasoned counsel" in dealings with the volatile region. After all, Mr. Carter is renowned as the master craftsman of the historic accord between Egypt's Anwar Sadat and Israel's Menachem Begin at Camp David in September 1978, which opened the way for a formal peace agreement three months later.

The myth of Camp David hangs heavy over American foreign policy, and it's easy to see why.

"We are a party of unity in action. We are an integral part of every struggle and movement for change to eliminate poverty and joblessness, against racism and for full equality. We are participants, initiators and leaders of every movement to make life better now and much better in a socialist future." Yeah, so they supported an oppressive dictator, like the Repubs and Democrats haven't? The CP is still around, has apologized for that whole Stalin thing, and has a quickly growing youth section.

Jimmy STP Carter no more made ‘peace’ in the Middle East than he invented the concept of 2 x 4 lumber for house construction with ‘Habitat for Humanity’.

Sadat WANTED to make peace with Israel, and that is why he went to Tel Aviv in 1977, and it wasn’t until September ‘78 that Jimmah was grandstanding with his media-vaunted ‘Camp David Accords’, anything to get his mug into the picture.

Carter’s legacy is one of unleashing Islamic jihad upon the world thanks to his betrayal of the Shah of Iran, precipitating the seizure of that nation by Islamofascists led by the Assahollah Khomeini and his thugs, and his laughable ‘Carter Center’ is the financial sock puppet for Muslim entities and Islamic organizations on a global scale.

And the silly sonuvabitch is enjoying a resurgence thanks to his metaphorical love child sitting in the Oval Office.

During the 1973 Yom Kippur War the IAF dropped paint bombs on the Aswan High Damn. By 1976 when Lake Nassar was completely filled it effectively became a WMD held back by the dam. Sadat was smart enough to realize that war with Israel was no longer possible and he looked for the best deal he could get.

And he got a good deal, and he got it *without* Jimmy Carter.

What does STP stand for?

It stands for:

"Jimmy Screwed-The-Pooch Carter"

And he did, in everything he did, the result was "STP"

Exactly. It even goes way before Carter’s term of misrule. Sadat wanted Egypt to switch sides in the Cold War, away from the Soviets, who have dominated since Nasser, and seeking rapprochment with the USA and Israel. The relatively good showing of Egypt in the early phase of the Yom Kippur War gave Sadat the neccesary leverage for negotiations. He was the one seeking good ties with the West and Israel, encouraged by Nixon/Kissinger and the Shah. Therefore he went to the Knesset way before “Camp David”.

Carter had no substantial role in this play, other than grinning like a goober.

Sadat for his audacity to make peace with Israel and attach Egypt to the West paid with his life (killed by an islamofascist terrorist), while Peanut the Rabbit-slayer sticks around to this day encouraging Hamas and other assorted terrorists.

The way things are going, Carter will no longer be viewed as the most incompetent president ever. He will be #2 behind Barry Obama.
