If you really know what you’re doing, a .303 Enfield is an “elephant gun”.

I have an SMLE that I really love. Hits hard and is surprisingly accurate for an iron sighted gun almost a hundred years old. My granddad was in the British Army and carried one in the trenches at Passchendaele.

Passchendaele had trenches?

The stories I read about it seemed to concentrate on the swampy, mirey, impenetrable muck.
