How about an Enfield 2B in .308?
Squantos speaks highly of them.
Also a great weapon. Most of these have been modified and rebarreled from .303 to .308 anyway. There is a company that even specializes in sporterizing them and I was thinking of their "Jungle Carbine Model 7" when I suggested that model. For the life of me, I can't recall the name of the company that does those conversions. Anybody remember and have a link?
I've got a couple of the Ishapore Enfields in .308 and recommend them highly. If you can still find them for a reasonable price (under $200 or so) I'd say grab 'em while you can.
