In the position shown in the picture, the idea is to just stay in that position for a minute or so. (...) It’s amazing how hard it gets after 30 seconds or so.

Now that I'm getting older, it gets hard way in way longer than 30 seconds.

I guess that's a sign that I'm in better shape?

What was it that we were talking about again?

To elaborate on the answers you’ve already read, it’s a typical yoga exercise, which is about holding a position rather than movement or jarring. Transitions between holds are meant to be smooth and “whatever gets you there without hurting yourself,” often with a stretch incorporated between difficult holds.
