Well, Phil Collins just climbed a peg or two in my estimation. I've always considered the seige to be one of the truly great stories of North America.
It's a shame only an ever diminishing minority of US citizens have a scintilla of knowledge regarding the story. Oh well, some of them probably rent cars.
I've done some reading of the Alamo, tho not as much as I'd like. The story of the Alamo is truly that awesome. It's about courage in the face of being denied supplies, munitions, etc., and still FULFILLING THE MISSION.
