The only canon descriptions of young James Kirk s described by his First Officer Gary Mitchell who had known him the longest, were that he was serious to the point of being grim, and studious as though he were a book with legs. Continuously the losing end of jokes and harassment at the Academy, as per Kirk’s recollection. Is that the Kird the trailer shows ?
