I need to get a new PDA-type device. Just FYI, I've used the Palm TX and/or Palm Tungsten for four or five years.
But, if I can't bypass the 'wonderful' Apple feature on the IPod touch that doesn't allow "cut and paste", or "copy and paste", then an IPod won't be very useful to me.
I trust Freeper opinions more than the average website out there, so I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this.
Basically, I'd like to Jailbreak an IPod Touch so I can have a "cut and paste" feature.
Possible?
Good idea?
I have done this. I am a network\security guy. No other way for me to get some tools on it.
It is stable and works great, no worries there.
Thanks.
I’ve sent a further question to your Freepmail box.
Or the Blackberry Storm?
Jailbreaking voids warranty and has other liabilities.

Seen #5?
I own both an ipod Touch 2G and a Palm TX. I use the TX for work spreadsheets.
If you find out how to copy and past within the iPod Touch browser I would appreciate the information.
I sent my e-mail address to Palm yesterday for the Pre announcement.
Price?
At this point, I need to replace the Palm TX, but I don’t want to buy two new devices.
They say $199 to $249, but Palm may have a surpise within their sleeves.
Features-wise, I hear that it is one of the most capable smartphones out there. Android G2 is another one I’m watching out for. The latter is more flexible in terms of applications etc.
I don't believe "Jailbreaking" will resolve the lack of "cut and paste" features or is their some cut and paste bootleg OS patch / hack you know of that Apple & ATT is not allowing to be install?
Read an article on ZDNet last week that the Pre is way behind schedule and Plam blew a chance to take over the smartphone market.
Yeah, it can be done easily, but it will instantly void your warranty, from what I understand. People do it with Iphones so they can download non-apple sanctioned apps.
If I can wait until the Pre arrives, that might be good.
No, I don’t know of any C&P third party application.
I’ve spent hours reading about PDAs , but am not at a decision yet. I liked the Palm TX I had, but the browser could have been better.
Thanks.
I’ll check out ZDnet.
The Palm OS is getting increasingly buggy what with all the demands being placed on it, and Palm itself is circling the bowl.
Thanks for the links.
I need to buy a new PDA with WiFi that is not a cell phone. Right now, if I bought today, it would be the iPod Touch.
... that is said AFTER I’ve looked into replacing my Palm TX, or the Dell PDAs, the Asus, the iPod, etc etc.
