I recommend a 12 gauge shot-gun. 0-0 Buck loads work best for this type of thing, but anything larger than #4 Shot should work fine.

depends on the range...up to 100 yds 00 buck reins supreme, but if you limit shooting your MAC to 40 yds then #4 shot will do quite nicely...and your can even use #9 dove and quail loads (affectionately known by me and my shooting buddies as Worm and Frog load) if you put the end of the barrel right up against Mr. Mac.
