UNION CITY, CA -- A female teacher at Union City's Cesar Chavez Middle School has been arrested and charged for allegedly committing lewd acts with a 13-year-old male student, police said today.
Anna Kristina Baeta, 38, was arrested after New Haven Unified School District administrators notified police Tuesday that a teacher allegedly had contact that was "sexual in nature" with a student, according to police.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged Baeta with multiple counts of lewd acts Thursday, police said.
The New Haven Unified School District issued a statement today saying district officials immediately notified police after the family of the alleged victim expressed concerns.
