And how many of those belong to the 10s of millions of illegal immigrants? (i.e. how many of them are anchor babies?)

More “casualties” in the culture war with liberalism.

From the New York Times, September 11, 2001:

“He [Bill Ayers] also writes about the Weathermen’s sexual experimentation as they tried to ‘smash monogamy.’ The Weathermen were ‘an army of lovers,’ he says, and describes having had different sexual partners, including his best male friend.”

"Um, maybe I’m missing something, but what does divorce have to do with unwed pregnancy rates?"

If your a man, why marry when the laws are against you and over 50% of marriages end in divorce? It doesn't make sense.

The sexual revolution made sexual intercourse as common as a hand shake (and a bl&w job just common).

And this revolution gained momentum when “the pill” was introduced as a way to have “recreational sex” without fear of a pregnancy. Or without fear about 94% of the time. (No one tells people that “recreational sex” is for after menopause.)

I doubt there’s any way to go back to the days when getting pregnant as a teen or a single woman was an embarrassment to yourself and your family. The punishment then was ostracism. Today, kids in high school throw baby showers for their pregnant peers.

The Federal Government makes it too easy to get Medicaid, Welfare payments, WIC vouchers, and Food Stamps if a teen/young woman gets pregnant. And no one is held accountable for their actions or lack thereof.

Progressives want to undermine the family unit and they’ve found a way to do it . . . teen sexuality and pregnancy.

Because real men don't procreate without first providing a stable home for their children.

"Because real men don't procreate without first providing a stable home for their children."

I agree that's the way it should be.

However, a lot of real men have woken up to the fact that their partner has taken their kids and trapped them into a life of financial servitude.

And other men, the non-real men, have seen what happens to real men in marriage, and run from it like it was Ebola. But they still have that urge, and thus they procreate anyway. It ain't right. But look at the stats.

Change the law and some, not all, but some of those non-real men will step up to the plate.

Change the law, reduce the incentives for women to divorce and maybe some wives will go to counseling instead of running.

Very true. The entire leftist education system is about getting children to rebel against parents.

If you watch most tv shows, the parents are almost always idiots. The children are the smart ones.

In real life parents can’t discipline children.

Add the smart aleck attitude with the lack of discipline, then mix in the sense of invulnerability of youth and you have a mess.

remember now, in our PC world we can’t say “illegal,” they’re just undocumented. I have a friend who immigrated legally from Mexico who translates at a local public hospital. She recently told me how frustrated she gets with the number of women who come in pregnant without a dad in site. Her estimate is that only 1 in 10 births is with a married couple.

This isn't about blame, or I sincerely do not believe this major problem should be about blame, or shame. Blame and shame will get us nowhere. The genie is out of the bottle and we'll have one hell of a time trying to reverse that.

On one level I totally agree that laws need to change. But no-fault divorce and abortion-on-demand might as well be etched in stone now, so we'll need to work around those two formidable marriage and responsible parenthood killers.

Take away the incentive for divorce, absolutely. But the lawyers would fight that tooth-and-nail. I know men and women who don't think twice about having children out of wedlock and then lying about living together so they can get assistance (free or reduced cost healthcare, childcare subsidies, foodstamps, etc.). They *should* be married but then they'd lose their perks. That is pitiful. But then we'd need more case workers to investigate these abuses, which happen every day.
