Forgive this vanity but on reflection of this day, shouldn't someone propose May 1st as Ronald Reagan Day, a national holiday? Remember May Days of the past: the Soviets rolling out their hardware, tanks, bombs, troopers, etc on parade; growing up learning to "duck and cover" at school , under your desk, in reaction to the Soviet nuke threat; our valiant amateur athletes competing against Soviet govt sponsored athletes in the Olympics; (add your favorite Evil Empire memory)...If you agree with me that RR was as effective in preserving our national security as well as interest as was Abe Lincoln, don't you think this would be a great day to honor Ronaldus Magnus? Actually the Soviets never marched the military hardware around on may day, just flowers and dancers. Could have been called Gay Day.
