Rename FOCA? (vanity)

Posted on 05/01/2009 7:47:33 PM PDT by impimp

Who thinks that Obama will rename FOCA as the "Abortion Reduction Act", while not changing the body of the legislation?

Who thinks that Rick Warren, the Catholic left, media etc. will swoon about Obama being pro-life after the legislation is renamed as identified above?

Good observation, I was just thinking about this the other day.

That would be positively Orwellian.....kinda like the “Employee Free Choice Act”.

ANybody who heard him talking recently about Soopream Court Justices. The description he gave was of someone like, say, Alito, against whose nomination he also spoke.

I really am beginning not to like this guy.

And your second question is also good. (IMHO, this is a good vanity.) A number of people will just think it's as charming as Michelle's $450 sneakers.

He will be very placating to the pro-life crowd, doing whatever it takes to make it past May 17th. His commencement speech at Notre Dame is the most important thing to him and the Democratic party right now. They do not want that invitation rescinded. Just watch the antics and the semantics until then.

I see this coming. I see this, as you say, Orwellian act giving him the Christian left in 2012. The simple renaming of baby-killing legislation will soothe the consciences of so many.

It has already started. This link may require a thread of its own. The Dems are already discussing an “abortion reduction bill” and the Bishops seem to be lapping it up.
