We wouldn't even have a picture of the grandparents sitting on a bench in Central Park unless they had come there at the right time to visit their grandson.

LOL! I love the way you think...as for myself, as I wasn't there when the photograph was taken, I have no way of knowing it was taken in Central Park.

Those are the kind of walls they have around Central Park. Since these walls have been in place for many decades, presumably one could identify the exact spot where the photograph was taken, which would also answer the question of whether the photo was "expanded".
