Jamie Foxx, the African-American actor, singer and comedian, has been named as a potential contender for the role of Frank Sinatra in Martin Scorcese's biopic of the entertainer.

Foxx, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray, reportedly considered to be "perfect" for the role. If he is chosen for the part, it will be one of the most prominent examples of "colour-blind" casting in Hollywood history.

Also in the running are George Clooney, Leonardo di Caprio, Harry Connick Jnr and Justin Timberlake.

But an unnamed source told the Daily Express: "Cool is colour-blind.

Jamie would seem to be born to the role."

That being the list, they should pick him. Leonardo can act but is no Sinatra.

I thought Ray Liotta and the others were excellent in that HBO Rat Pack movie.

This was considered racist when a white actor played a black man.

Fox, George Clooney, Leonardo di Caprio, and Justin Timberlake wouldn’t have been fit to hold The Chairman of the Board’s glass of Jack.

I think they must have gotten confused, and maybe Foxx will play Sammy Davis Jr, in the movie.

It’s Hollyweird, why not have some lesbian play Sinatra. What’s that bald female with the Irish sounding name doing?
