With all the almond and walnut orchards around here, we also have lots of scrubjays. Some folks call 'em bluejays. Mom and dad dive-bomb our dogs if they get too close to the tree. Never mind that the nest is up 25-30 ft. We get one or two families a year nesting in one of our Redwood trees. Here's three of their "puppies" that left the nest before they could fly...
