To hearty laughter from what sounded like anchor Wolf Blitzer (who would have a live mike, but listen and judge for yourself), CNN's Jack Cafferty on Tuesday afternoon asked on The Situation Room whether viewers would “rather just stick needles” in their eyes than listen to Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich? During the 4 PM EDT/1 PM PDT hour “Cafferty File” segment, Cafferty wondered: “Would you rather listen to a speech by Sarah Palin or a speech by Newt Gingrich?” Then he quickly added another option which is what prompted the laughter: “Or would you rather just stick needles in your eyes?”
Finished guffawing, Blitzer soon wondered: “What do you think, Jack? You want to listen to Palin or Gingrich deliver a speech?” Cafferty replied he dislikes them both: “I'm not interested in listening to either one of them.”

Oddly enough, based on recent ratings, the American public has decided the same thing about Caffery and Blitzed.

What a total tool Cafferty is... must be awful to live such a bitter life where no one even knows or cares who you are. Gingrich and Palin’s names are etched in history. Cafferty... not so much.
“listening to Barack Obama give a speech is like sex”......with a very,very ornery porcupine.
I thought that was Bob Novak (then suffering from an undiagnosed brain tumor) in DC.... Anyway, Blitzer makes me twitchy and Cafferty makes me cranky, so I don’t watch them, especially when they’re on together.
CNN Anchor Cafferty Pleads Guilty

Like most journalists, CNN morning anchor Jack Cafferty would prefer to cover news than make it. Especially when it’s bad news.
But Tuesday, a stunned Cafferty was greeted by photographers as he went into a midtown Manhattan court to plead guilty in connection with a hit and run accident.
According to the criminal complaint, Cafferty was driving a Cadillac with a New Jersey Press license plate on Ninth Avenue near 42nd Street May 14th when he allegedly made an abrupt turn and hit bicyclist Billy Maldonado.
About five people tried to stop Cafferty by running after the car, waving their arms and yelling, “Hey Stop,” according to the complaint, but the newsman allegedly continued through at least two red lights, while dragging the bicycle underneath the vehicle.
Jack’s back on the sauce again.
Too funny, they are so obsessed with Rush and Palin.
Is being guilty of a hit and run a requirement for working at CNN? Dirty Rick Sanchez has the same thing on his rap sheet, if I’m not mistaken.
I wonder who Wolfie’s killed or maimed?
Good Ol’ Hit and Run Jackie... hit any more NYC bike messengers with your Cadillac lately?
But of course these same people will give you the “who me” treatment if you suggest they are liberally biased in their coverage.
