Hossa must be kicking himself about now. Great game, great series. Congrats to Pens. Next year the Flyers kick their butts. :^)

Detroit played a great game. The seven game series was fantastic. I wasn’t sure the Pens would pull it off but I’m glad my home team did. Go Pens! BTW Mario Lemieux is scheduled to be made a knight of Quebec next week - big ceremony at their Parliament house. Gee I thought he was a Pittsburgher now.

Yes, FANTASTIC SERIES! I was very worried when Crosby was hurt, but we pulled it off!

I thought Marino was a better QB than Bradshaw

I watched Marino play for Pitt and evolve as a player. Always was a fan. He may have been a more skilled football player than Bradshaw--I'm not too sure about that--but who has the most rings on their fingers? That's the bottom line.

Crosby can suck it.

Shame on Sidney Crosby

Shame on Sidney Crosby and a few other members of the Pittsburg Penguins for disrespecting the Red Wings. I guess Lebron James is their role model.

After being defeated by the Penguins in game 7, the Red Wings gave the Pens a few minutes to celebrate the win. The Wings then lined up for the traditional handshake. Sadly, Crosby and few other Penguins were too busy celebrating to notice that the handshakes had begun. By the time Crosby did join the line many of the Detroit players had already come to the end of the line and headed for the dressing room. This left Crosby to shake the hands of a couple of players and some members of the Detroit training staff. Shameful, and a mockery of what the CBC announcer described as one of the greatest traditions in sport. In case Sid or any other members of the Pens are curious about how thew whole handshake thing works here' a video of the 2008 postgame handshake. Not surprisingly, every member of the victorious (and classy) Red Wings managed to get to the line in time to shake the hand of every Penguin player.

That boy has a long way to go before he's a true superstar in a man's game in the NHL. You'd never see Lemieux do that. Nor Yzerman. When Detroit won in Pitt last year, every single player lined up and shook the Pens hands.

He’s a classy kid. If the Flyers couldn’t stand the celebration time that’s their crybaby fault.

Sore losers! L

Crosby can suck it.

Whatever.

Crosby is a great player, and is very respectful of his foes, and they respect him in return.

So what if he was the last one to shake hands, after all he is the captain. Did you hear Babcock tell Crosby he showed great leadership as they shook hands?

Crosby is and always will be a champion. Suck on that .

Detroit played a great game.

It wasn't their best game of the series. In fact, their best players-Datsyk, Zetterberg, Hossa, Franzen- didn't really do much.

Pittsburgh gutted out a great road win: score first-better yet, score 2, first- and go into defensive mode, and say to Detroit, "catch us if you can."

It was a helluva game to watch sober.

It's always more enjoyable to watch a sporting event sober.

Excellent Game. One thing i am really happy about is that the Pens pounded the life out of the team from North Carolina. Wasn't much of a series but sweeping them made it all so much more sweet. I imagine Andy, Opie, Goober, Barney Fife and aunt Bea are still complaining about getting crushed.
I can't wait for the parade and the day long party at The Point. I have never seen a team play such good defense for almost an entire period as well ass the Pens did. Fluery was fantastic. At times it looked like a 15 minute power play but the goalie was unbeatable.
Super job Pens and here it goes: WE IN PITTSBURGH ARE ONCE AGAIN “THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS!!!!”

Below is from part of a post by FlAttorney that was posted on the Stanley Cup Playoffs thread a while back. I'm sure the Democrats and Obama loving Red Wings owner's family are not happy campers that their team did not win the Stanley Cup again. - TAB

It's common political knowledge that the owner of the Detroit Red Wings, Mike Ilitch; his son Christopher Ilitch who is President & CEO of Ilitch Holdings, Inc., which manages the businesses of his father including the Red Wings; and Mike's daughter Denise Ilitch, who is a practicing attorney and previous co-president of Ilitch Holdings, Inc., all whore themselves via political donations and favors to Nationally recognized scumbag Democrats. Collectively, they have donated money to Barack Obama; Hillary Rodham Clinton; Harry Reid; Charles Rangel; Carl Levin; Edward Kennedy; Daniel K. Inouye; Debbie Stabenow; and John Conyers Jr, among other scumbag DemoRats.

Denise Ilitch, with support from the DNC, the MDP, the local Detroit Democratic Party, and ACORN, hosted the below rally for Obama and Biden. ~ FlA

09.28.08: Detroit, Mich. — Addressing a boisterous crowd of 28,000 that filled the street in front of the Detroit Institute of Arts on Sunday, Sen. Joe Biden touted the support of a “real hockey mom.” Biden, as well as Sen. Barack Obama, was introduced by Denise Ilitch(shown in photos), former president of a company that managed the Detroit Red Wings. She is “the first lady of hockey,” Biden told the crowd. Ilitch gave both Biden and Obama Red Wings jerseys, and said the Democratic ticket would be as successful as the local team — which won the Stanley Cup last year. When Obama took the stage, he reprised the hockey theme, asking supporters if they had any extra tickets for the coming season. <> Article snip courtesy of the Michigan Messenger. Red Wings have 11 Cups. Pens 3. Suck on that.

And Cindy didn’t shake the team’s hand. He only shook a few training staff and Babcock’s. Respect, yeah right.

Flyers? Uh, it was the Red Wings. And you clearly don’t understand hockey traditions. Did you even read the article?

Oh, excuse me. Red Wings. We were doing something called ‘celebrating’ at the time of my post and I suppose the beverages made me forget the losing team’s name.

I read your post. Which is bubbling over with a sore loser attitude.

I’ve been a Pens fan since I was young and Pierre LaRouche was the biggest thing they had and we had absolutely no hope of even getting to the playoffs, much less a Stanley Cup Final. So, yes I know hockey traditions. I just don’t know why you’re whining and hating on Crosby other than Detroit (See, I know the city too.) lost.
