TIME takes advantage of of MJ's death to make money and keep the company afloat for a while. Time magazine will publish a $5.99 special commemorative issue on Michael Jackson to hit newsstands on Monday, June 29.
Time last published a special edition in the days following 9/11 (it sold 3.25+ million copies stateside).
For the special commemorative issue, Time spoke with Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Nancy Reagan, Lenny Kravitz, Jesse Jackson, Tommy Mottola, Berry Gordy, Spike Lee, Sheryl Crow, Anjelica Huston, Clive Davis, Al Sharpton, Deepak Chopra, Kobe Bryant, Lance Bass, Oscar De La Hoya, Savion Glover, A.R. Rahman, Peter Gabriel, John Mayer and more.

And just where were all these friends while MJ was alive? Nobody gave the man the time of day after all those scandals, but they push in front of a camera the minute he's dead?
Oh what a shame... Obama will have to wait until the next issue to appear on the cover yet again...
The Time cover should say, “Jackson bails out state run media.”
If there’s anything good about this, it might be that MJ’s death crowded out Time’s Health Care Reform edition - at least for one week.

For the first time in about 5 years, I picked up a copy of TIME at the airport last week. Stunned at how thin the magazine was - about half the content that I remember the magazine having.
Vultures circling the carcass for fun and P R O F I T! All MJ means to TIME et.al. is SALES and M O N E Y.
Lance Bass is an interesting choice. In what way did he know Michael Jackson? If for not being the first openly homosexual (I refuse to use the word ‘gay’) on Dancing with the Stars, I would never have known of him.

The paper they now use is thinner and magazine ad revenue is WAY DOWN. I haven’t read TIME magazine in at least 20 years.
The MJ issue will likely be double that if not more.

PS...somebody in CA went thru court records and found a drug store was suing Jackson for unpaid bills...he ran up a $100,000 tab in just 13 months....guess that much dope would make anybody gentle.
