Yeah, I think what I’m saying is right, too — but — what the other poster said can be what a person “hears” and is actually a “fast slurring” of what I printed...
Try it, and you’ll get that other pronunciation...
If a person really isn’t familiar with the right pronunciation, they may think that this “fast slurring” is right...
I’d hit it and light it up....

Sequim is pronounced “skwim”
Hoquiam is pronounced “ho - kwee - um” emphasis on the first syllable.
Some locals pronounce Hoquiam “ho - kee - um”, emphasis still on first syllable.
Humptulips, Pe Ell, Cle Elum, Manastash, Umptanum, Shi Shi, and my personal favorite, Yachats.
Can’t believe I forgot Yachats. That’s a good one. :)

Pretty tame. I’ve seen worse at the beach (not that I mind). Reminds me of the muzzies complaining about women wearing assorted swimwear while at neighborhood pools. America is not and should never be Burkastan.
To admire and to covet are two different things, and when the latter is your state, you are the only one to blame (not the object of your desire). To think otherwise is to be of the mindset which even partly excuses rape by the state of dress of the victim (as is done in Islamic countries).

If a stand like that opened near me I would be concerned, too. I would probably spend a lot of time keeping an eye on them with my binoculars and would take a lot of pictures for evidence.

Ahhh... Yachats... that’s actually one of my favorite places along the coast... I like those rocks and standing out on them as the waves come crashing over (they look like they’re about to swamp you and then go down into the cracks and crevices — at least they do until the tide comes up a bit more... LOL...)
