A few of my favorite flags

I, like millions of American citizens, am having a hard time understanding the new America. We preferred the old one, where immigrants were expected to learn English and the roots of high expectations were taught in our public schools. Sometime after John Boy Walton said "Goodnight Grandma" and news media's infatuation with celebrity whores, our dynamic purpose as a sovereign nation changed. The United States is truly a 21st century paradigm.
Our growth is built on consumption, not production; a society founded not on natural resources but upon the dissipation of capital accumulated elsewhere; a place of infinite possibilities, held together to the extent it is held together at all by a shared recognition of high-way signs, brand names, TV shows making fun of tradition, and personalities, rather than by a shared history. Our "can do" toughness was replaced with hubris and feminism. What America IS and what it should be is separated by 20 million (and growing) people who speak a language other than English, liberals with polarizing ideas and lifestyles contradictory to our founders, and leadership so far out of touch with our national principles they will risk our sovereignty for "cultural diversity".
Welcome to the theme park nation of cafeteria-style choices of laws and morality no longer based upon "we the people" but "we the individual". A nation once envied by the world because we knew how to make tough decisions is now managed and controlled by ACLU communists seeking to remove God from our sight, liberal socialists, homosexual "artists" seeking to distort American values into perverted comedy skits, self-serving politicians honoring greed and partisanship ahead of citizenry, and foreigners who migrate here no longer to blend-into and contribute to our history of amalgamation but to remain separate and dictate their "rights" in a foreign language.
Poor leadership in our capital has allowed this to occur. An American voter more concerned with celebrity escapades than the voting record of their elected represented has allowed this to occur. Special interests take precedence over "the common good". Secular humanism rules. National pride is drowned in an ocean of mind altering drugs, alcohol, pornography, gossip, and non-productive pursuits.
Sometime after Valley Forge and before Armageddon, our flag has become "artform", our schools social experimentation laboratories, our Bible a "personal interpretation reading choice", and our children "expendable components". Sometime after "Stand ye ready" in fear of British troops sailing down the Hudson River to capture George Washington's army we lost the ability to FEAR and recognize our enemy and potential enemy and exchanged fighting them for embracing them in "we are the world humanism".
The proud among our ranks is diminishing; an endangered species too tired to fight-back, or simply not forceful enough to overcome atheist media outlets that ignore us completely. In our apathy, we have allowed ourselves to be shouted-down by the special interests that now control our country; foreign and domestic. We have pandered and lost. We have ignored and surrendered. The thunderous shellfire from Gettysburg and Guadal Canal is now the faint sound of a distant trumpet. We cling to ideas and ideals our society and government leaders no longer studies, believes, or practices.
Before our Stars and Stripes is torn-down and replaced with the green and white symbol of Islam, will the last person standing please fold, box, and bury it. Someday an archeologist will find it and comment: "This was the symbol of a once great society that became so secure in their heaven they traded it for hell".
Sigh.
Today I saw on the back of a minivan, a now faded bumper
sticker that read: “Economists For Barrack Obama”.
I thought, “what a preposterous, contradictory notion”.
Just as ridiculous as a sticker that might read: “Zionists
For Hitler” or “Matter For Anti-Matter” would be.
Erosion is a slow but steady process, and liberalism like
rust, never sleeps.
Its’ time to wake up America....

Will we wake up before our complete distruction?
I’m going to start flying the Confederate flag. Will still fly the American Flag on the US holidays but otherwise I’m against DC.
We must, but it might take some time.
It took the marxist/socialists in this country, the better
part of 70 to 80 years to press their agenda this far.
Some times, an administration such as Obama’s or Carter's,
although destructive in the short term, can show the liberal
flaws, and catapult the country in the opposite direction
toward positive reconstruction.

The problem is not waking up, enough of us are awake. The problem is that we are not assembling in groups large enough to shut down the operation of gubmint. Until that happens, the erosion will continue.
Some of the recent scenes from Iranian streets may replay here, when that finally happens. We may even get a few twitters that a handful of Iranians "support us."

Me too man, me too. This is NOTHING that I was taught how America works. It’s like there is some freaky hypnosis with our politicians to make them lose their mind.

I sigh at what America is becoming also. Asking nothing of the people who come here and accepting all cultures (Islam) does not work. Just look at the UK to see where we are heading. Assimilate or get out.

Excellent post, patriot08! Too bad it’s all true.
I think it has gone beyond merely "poor" leadership. I would use a more sinister adjective.
