Former Titans and Ravens QB Steve "Air" McNair was found dead last night in downtown Nashville. He was shot in the head. A female was also shot and killed.

NOT OFFICIALLY MURDER. Investigation just begun and police aren’t saying anything about the cause. Early reports said Murder-Suicide and female has not been identified.
Yep, I realized that once it was posted...but still, if it was a murder-suicide, then someone was murdered. I hope it wasn’t a murder suicide. thanks for the update.
Double murder, McNair and his girlfried.
McNair’s wife was out of town, so the culprit might be the boyfriend of McNair’s girlfriend. Unless Mrs. McNair knew about her husband’s cheating and had him whacked.
A law enforcement source close to the investigation said the woman is
McNair’s girlfriend and that the residence is her condominium in
downtown Nashville.
Witnesses said he was a frequent visitor there.

According to CNN’s legal analyst Mike Brooks, sources claim the woman is McNair’s girlfriend who may actually own the residence. Brooks cites his sources as saying it was one of McNair’s former bodyguards who discovered the bodies and contacted the police.

Darren Rovell had reported that WSMV said the double homicide was actually a murder-suicide, with Steve McNair’s wife murdering him, then killing himself. Later however, he tweeted that WSMV has backed off that theory.
Steve McNair married Mechelle Cartwright in June 1997. They were sweethearts at Alcorn State, where he attended college. He was drafted number three overall in 1995.

McNair’s wife is supposedly out of town. So the shooter was either a jealous boyfriend of the dead girlfriend. Or a second jealous girlfriend.
WSMV has withdrawn reports that Mechelle Cartwright, Steve McNair’s wife, was killed in the shooting. Mechelle Cartwright, McNair’s wife, was mentioned in WSMV coverage of the murder suicide but since withdrawn reports CNBC’s Darren Rovell.
As of the moment, the identity of the female in the Steve McNair shooting remains unknown.
Police tell WTVF in Nashville Steve has been killed in a double shooting being ruled initially as a murder suicide. The shooting was at 2nd South & Lea Ave. in Nashville. Police have yet to identify the female nor indicate if McNair was the suicide or homicide victim.
