Wow...I cannot imagine!

Was it the uncleanliness? Slum area? Rundown?

Was it the faces on the person on the street?

The Tennessean reveals that two days ago McNair’s 2007 Cadillac Escalade was stopped for DUI and police found a 20-year-old woman named Sahel behind the wheel. McNair, if I’m not mistaken, had a previous DUI conviction. The Escalade was towed by police from the condo as part of the investigation.

Police refuse to release the name of the dead woman but if it turns out to be Sahel and it turns out that first reports of a murder-suicide (with the woman being the shooter) are true before the police started talking “double homicide” then the pieces start to fit together.

We may never know what the shooting was about but it may be McNair was pulling a Sanford and the woman was blowing his cover by showing up on the police blotter in his car. That led to a fight which led to... The last part is speculation on my part but also note the police don’t seem particularly interested in looking for suspects, as if they have their story but they just can’t tell it until they complete the investigation. In a high-profile case, the police are smart enough to not say what they can’t prove.

BNO on twitter is confirming that the woman is Sahel. She died of single gunshot wound to the head and McNair suffered and died from multiple gunshot wounds.

He's got four young boys. How terrible for them.

If McNair hadn’t cheated on his wife, he’d still be alive.

Yup. Kind of takes the “sorry” feeling out of it all. Never mind the “class act” comments. Seems to me he wasn’t; only good at seeming that way on the field.

I've been in Nashville plenty of times and never felt threatened. Then again, maybe I wasn't in any of the bad areas.

Too bad. From what I know of him, Steve McNair was a good guy and a warrior on the field.

Thanks everyone, this is an odd story. I'm reading across the internet that it was a jealous ex-con boyfriend that killed them both. Here on the FR, its still listed as a murder suicide.

You'd think this would've been cleared up by now. If some did killed them and is on the run, they'd be an alert as to who to look out for.

My family spent a day in Memphis and had a great time... Did the Graceland tour, took a riverboat ride, and got a guided “tour” of Sun Studio, where Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many other famous artists from the ‘50s recorded some of their greatest hits.

Yes, this is odd. But, according to a named and quoted LEO, Murder/Suicide has been ruled out. Here's the quote...

"Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron told Tennessee reporters today that no suspect is in custody at this time. Aaron ruled out the scenario of a murder-suicide"

Here's the link to the story...

“Yup. Kind of takes the “sorry” feeling out of it all. Never mind the “class act” comments. Seems to me he wasn’t; only good at seeming that way on the field.”

This angered me. Steve McNair, aside from being a great competitor, was one of the league’s most prominent participants in and facilitators of a number of charitable programs. Mistakes in one’s personal life don’t counteract the immensely positive impact someone like McNair has had on countless numbers of lives.

It gets weirder and weirder. This, from ProFootballDaily:
As a haze of confusion continues to permeate the circumstances surrounding the death of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, a bizarre report has surfaced.

Per Ken Whitehouse of NashvillePost.com and the Nashville City Paper, McNair's murder was preceded by a warning that he would be killed.

Citing unnamed sources, Whitehouse reports that McNair was at the Blue Moon Restaurant near the John C. Tune Airport. A white woman in her early 20s approached McNair, accused him of slipping her a "roofie" a year ago, and said that her boyfriend was going to kill him.

As Whitehouse points out, "roofie" is short for Rohpynol, a potent sedative often used in date rape.

Whitehouse writes that the information has been shared with the Metro Police Department. If the threat indeed was made, it might turn out to be nothing other than a morbid coincidence.

Yes, that is weird. The Tennessean.com is now reporting it was a murder/suicide. So, I don't know what story to believe, NBCSports.com or this one, FWIW...
