A year ago, I wrote here that this would be kept in abeyance until well after the innauguration of Barack Obama. The Republic and those who truly serve her would use this issue as an escape hatch from the Obama presidency if necessary. I don’t know if Biden is a real solution but I do know he has got to be considered more managable than Obama and has been in DC long enough to know which tunes to dance to. As for this entire Democratic push for power and change in such a reckless fashion, I am beginning to question the wisdom and almost desperate need to “get it done” as quickly as possible. The Health Care and Cap and Trade fiascos are moving at such break neck speed, it’s as if they know if they don’t fix the future by Labor Day the whole thing is going to backfire. I feel as if I am witnessing a real time coupe of the republic. Even today’s events that include the Speaker of the House taking on the CIA directly smacks so much of viscious revenge to put down anyone who dares cross her. Do they realize that below the folks in front of the cameras are thousands of government employees who have also taken an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. I am concerned that taking on the CIA may be beyond the pale. The last person to do this was President Kennedy. There is a point where very strong and deep views on the survival of this country could lead to extra-constitutional measures to protect the very core of who we are. Nobody wants that and it should be prevented at all costs. It could only mean rough times for all of us.
