Father of three found bound and stabbed in East Harlem

Jeff Locker was discovered bound and stabbed behind the wheel of his car in East Harlem.

Mystery surrounds the slaying of a Long Island motivational speaker found stabbed in his car just hours after calling his wife to say he'd be late because he was stuck in Harlem. "Listen, I'm running a little late because I got a flat tire near the Triborough Bridge," Jeff Locker's wife quoted him as saying, according to the New York Post. That would be the last time Lois Locker spoke with her husband. Late Wednesday night, she called Nassau County cops to report her husband never made it to their Valley Stream home. NYPD cops found Locker, the father of two sons and teenage daughter, early Thursday morning slumped behind the wheel of his 2007 Dodge Magnum on Pauldino Avenue near 124th Street. His hands were tied behind his back, a cord bound his neck to the headrest, and he had been stabbed several times, according to the New York Daily News. Cops were checking to see if the family man had a regular appointment with a prostitute in the nearby Wagner Houses, according to the News. A witness told the paper that they saw Locker stop at a deli on Second Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday to buy condoms. "He got out of the car and bought a bottle of water and a pack of Trojan condoms. He seemed cool, relaxed," said Whitney Young, 19, told the News. "The next time we see him, he's here dead." In his conversation with his wife, Locker casually mentioned that a man and woman were helping him with the flat, according to the Post, which led investigators to theorize he may fallen victim to a good Samaritan scam in which seeming do-gooders are actually setting a trap. According to his website, Locker worked with business people, coaching them to be their best. "Locker is an inspirational keynote speaker known as the business spiritualist: he is committed to bringing more peace - joy and fulfillment to sales people, managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals, his Web site said.

"He probably trusted someone," his mother-in-law, Annette Serota told the News. "He was a very trusting person. That's probably how it happened. You could sell him the Brooklyn Bridge."

When I get a flat tire I go into the nearest store to buy a bottle of water and a pack of condoms.

I’d be very interested to know why Whitney Young, 19, is in the store at 3:am on second Avenue, and able to recognize the guy later when he’s on Pauldino Avenue near 124th Street. Something ain’t stacking up straight with the witness’s statement.

Place condom inside hole in the tire, put water into condom to hold it in place, use water bottle top to seal the top and voilla - a fixed tire a la MacGyver. So what’s the problem?

In high school, we called a case of beer a flat, so yeah.

Getting a flat tire on the way to see your prostitute. That’s the pits.

Sure, just pour the soda into a condom, and use it as an emergency tire.

Works in a pinch.

Visiting a prostitute in a public housing project in East Harlem at 3AM is not the safest move for a rich white guy.

Who is Jeff Locker and why has he been so successful?

Jeff Locker is committed to bringing spirituality into the business world. He helps business people exorcize the internal demons that are preventing them from moving to their next level of success.

One of the reasons Jeff's message is so powerful is that he shares innovative insights that teach people how to move out of their Mental realms and into their Physical and Spiritual realms. This helps them stop their daily efforting and begin going with the flow, thus creating much more Peace, Joy and Fulfillment in all areas of their lives.

He teaches people how to control their energy by using concepts like the Law of Vibration and Attraction. These laws demonstrate how negative energy attracts negative people while positive, passion filled, loving, caring energy attracts positive, passion filled, loving, caring people and results.

All who attend Jeff's keynotes walk away with a road map to begin a new model of operating which is called Vibrations For Success ®. It replaces the old model that is Fear based with a new model that is Love based (Love of Self, Love of Others, Allowing Others to Love you).

From the article:

Locker was sued in April as an investor who profited from a $300 million, decade-old Ponzi scheme run by Lou Pearlman, former manager of boy bands including the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync.

Pearlman pleaded guilty in March 2008 to conspiracy, money laundering and presenting a false claim in bankruptcy court.

A bankruptcy trustee sued Locker to recoup roughly $371,000 he received from Pearlman’s investment company, according to court papers filed in Orlando.

Maybe he's not a very good motivational speaker, and a public housing prostitute was the best he could afford?

For me, “Motivational Speaker” is another term for “Confidence Man”. In any case he wasn’t very smart. If I got a flat in Harlem at 3AM I’d keep driving until I was out of there, even though it would mean a destroyed rim. The guy just didn’t have a lot of practical smarts.

That being said I hope they catch the perps and execute them. Good luck getting another hate crime labeled such, though.

That seems to be just thrown into the article for little apparent reason. Why would the police suspect he was visiting a hooker? Is that they only reason that they would go into Harlem?
