In scanning for a toll free way to call my congress critter, I accidentally found a sweet way to do it:
use the AMA's own dime and your zip code to directly call your congress critter.
Simply call (800) 833-6354. This is the AMA's own automated grass roots hot line system. It will ask for your zip code, and then via a menu it will automatically directly dial your representative's or senator's office so you can protest the health care bill.
Happy dialing --early and often-- on the AMA's own dime!!!
I last heard that the AMA was for nationalized healthcare.
These people are idiots.
not idiots, just turncoats/traitors/bought out group
BTTT
Doctor’s and Nurse’s are some of the biggest liberal hacks on G*D’s green Earth.
Actually, I talked to my opthamologist today re a cataract operation next week. He is an AMA member and very POed at at their position supporting the Obama plan.
WHY is that?
Most doctor’s I know are conservative. I don’t know where you get your information.
HEY!!!
I’m a nurse and NO WAY am I a liberal!
It’s the nurse’s UNIONS and the doctor’s ASSOCIATIONS that are liberal!
That’s what I meant. Doctor’s and Nurse’s “Leadership” positions are mostly liberal.
I don't agree that physicians are mostly liberals. However, much of the influence is the same for physicians and nurses, except for the unions.
Several reasons why a lot of nurses are liberals. First, the influence of liberal college nursing instructors is great, as they tear down your self esteem and rebuild it via an aggressive and exhaustive curriculum. Second, the heavy influence of unions on the nursing profession. Third, it is a service industry focused on assisting the infirm, drawing liberal types. Same with social workers.
I remember when nursing was known as “the selfless profession.” The unions would love to fool the public into believing that is still the case. They destroyed that notion years ago.
The AMA is a very rich and powerful union, pure and simple. They pad the prices of their union members, create featherbedding, and establish severe barriers to entry. If the Repubs really wanted to reduce healthcare costs, they would break the AMA union.
well both my PA. senators are either busy (Specter) or their mail box is FULL (Casey JR.) how convenient...
As a Senior I guess if this goes through I’ll just take a pill and waith for the end!!!!! never in my life have I been so discusted with the Federal Government.
2010 lets clean out the HOUSE and the Senate.
discussed
ooops...disgusted, you mean.
Glad to hear it. Hope it's one of those urban myths...

Interesting. I never would have guessed your third reason. I've always put nurses and their skills and compassion WAY above (mostly liberal) social workers...
yep
the AMA is selling their members’ birthright for Obama’s false promise of some Medicare reimbursement relief today....suckers!
And here’s an exapmle letter for your Congress-critter’s e-mail:
During a the President’s recent whip-up-the-net-roots conference call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. The worried blogger asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?”
President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” Are you, Congressman/woman, familiar with the provision the blogger was asking the president about? And if you are, could I trouble you for a brief explanation of the provision that has President Obama baffled?
