It would probably be more accurate to describe him as Bohemian rather than Austrian or German. And, yes, he was a murderous s.o.b., but he had a better sense of country than BO.
The difference was that Hitler was willing to serve his country in WWI and that Hitler was willing to go to be imprisoned for his beliefs.
