Teacher suspended for calling pupils ugly and fat
A secondary school teacher called his pupils "ugly" and "fat" in lessons and asked if their mothers were attractive when planning parents' evening, a tribunal heard.
By Matthew Moore 22 Jul 2009
James Cairney, who taught food technology, also made "inappropriate physical contact" with students while demonstrating restraint techniques.
The General Teaching Council found that Mr Cairney caused distress to his teenage pupils by making public judgements on their appearances.
He described three students as "ugly", "fat" and a "scumbag", while praising one's "good looks" and calling another "beautiful".
When one student apologised for being late for a lesson at The Causeway School, Eastbourne, East Sussex, he replied: "It's OK, I don't think you're pregnant."
He also asked pupils whether their mother was "fit" while making appointments for parents' evening. Allegations that Mr Cairney inappropriately handled a pupil and stroked another's arm were also upheld, but a claim relating to an alleged incident where he put a pupils' head in an oven was found not proved.
The panel found the teacher guilty of unacceptable professional conduct between September 2004 and August 2006 and he was suspended from the teaching register for two years.
The GTC's panel said: "We have concluded that Mr Cairney has little insight despite a number of management interventions. The actions of Mr Cairney have on occasions caused distress to pupils."

If this dude had only been an American Democrat referring to children of Republicans he'd have nothing at all to worry about!

I think there should be a law against ugly and fat people. They should be in jail until their BMI comes down to normal levels.
If that won't pass, then there should be a Ugly Fat & Trade bill passed where the fat could trade calories with the skinny folks.

The restraint demonstrations were to show how to keep the fat kids from getting to the cupcakes.

Perhaps he was teaching them how to make pub food and also be bouncers.
Ya gotta do everything in those British pubs.
