Kelsey: "Don't Release" My Sister's Murderer (Kelsey Grammer)
TMZ.com ^ | July 27, 2009 | Staff

Posted on 07/27/2009 1:18:32 PM PDT by OldDeckHand

Kelsey Grammer wasn't able to attend a parole hearing today for the man who raped and murdered his sister back in 1975 -- so he sent this powerful letter which was read aloud.

Grammer -- who missed the hearing in Colorado Springs this morning due to rain delays at JFK airport -- pleads with the court not to release the man who "abducted ... raped ... savaged ... butchered" his little sister Karen.

Grammer described his sister as "smart and good and decent," and said "I can never escape the horror of what happened" to her ... "Please do not release this man from prison."

Freddie Glenn -- the man who murdered Karen -- will stay put for at least 5 more years.

I had no idea Grammer experienced this tragedy. I've never heard him talk about it. It might help to explain some of his more right-of-center political leanings. Here's a copy of the letter he submitted to the parole board.

He is pretty conservative, IIRC.

I guess the fact this thug is coming up for parole was b/c he was sentenced in the “perpetrator is actually a victim” era of the 70’s and early 80’s.

The man’s experienced more family tragedy than any human being I’ve ever known. His father was murdered when he was a kid, his sister was raped and murdered, and his twin half-brothers were eaten by a shark.

Did a great General Patton in “American Carol.” Wish it had done better box office. I rather enjoyed watching two liberals leave the theater.

Grammer is a stand-up guy. Wonder if there is anything we can do to support his stance on keeping this animal in prison.

I had no idea. I think he even had a heart attack last year, albeit a mild one.

What a beautifully written letter. It brought tears to my eyes. He brought to life the pain he and his family have felt since the loss of Karen. God calls us to forgive and it blesses me to know that Kelsey was able to do that. How difficult that had to be.

Beautiful letter in tribute to his sister Karen and eloquently stated as to why this animal should never breathe free air as he says. Excellent. I think it said the animal will remain in prison for another 5 years. Am I right anyone??? Is that the result that was reached???

Yes. Not eligible for parole again until summer of 2014.

I went to Wikipedia (I know, I know) — and there it is, a freak scuba diving accident or something.

I never knew that there was such tragedy in his life.

I’m not kidding. They were killed by a shark while SCUBA diving. What he and his family have been through is unthinkable.

The fact that Kelsey was able to get himself off drugs and rise to the level of prominence that he has is amazing.

Oh how terrible. Yes, Kelsey is amazing. We like him a lot and always have. God bless him and hope this scum stays in the dark forever. Just like he put Kelsey’s sister in the dark. Thank you for the information...had never heard that before.

Wow, that letter is just full of emotion, a real heartgrabber. I hope this guy dies in prison.

He is pretty conservative, IIRC.

Not according to Wikipedia. Multiple marriages (3) - to a dance instructor, a stripper, and a Playboy model; a child out of wedlock; sex tapes; a cocaine user. Sounds like standard fare for a Hollywood Liberal.

Republican doesn't necessarily equal Conservative.

Grammer is a member of the Republican Party and has expressed an interest in someday running for United States Congress.

Please, no. We don't need you.

Yes, it was, and it was full of pain. You could really feel it as you read it. God bless him.
