You don’t want to take one of those things on a cross-country trip, but they are a welcome alternative to a scooter or walking in an urban environment.
If I lived in downtown DC, I would probably park my Buick Roadmaster near a Metro station in the suburbs and get one of those dishwashers on wheels to putt around in.
