I haven’t been hypnotized because I’ve never listened to him talk for over 30 seconds, I can usually find the remote or reach the television in that amount of time.

But you know I’ve hammered the concept because those ssssssssssssssss snakey sounds which is a fairly recent addition and the use of repetition and getting his audience mesmerized by his phrasing and use of language.
But who would know that better than Rev Wright and Bill Ayers? I’m sure they coached him.

If his speechifying is really that calculated then I fear that perhaps his Jedi Mind Tricks only work in person. I am reflexively suspicious of any “charismatic” speaker and when I watch and listen to his cadences I find them profoundly irritating and insulting to my intelligence. His bland assurances, baldface lies, and refusal to deal in details are becoming a cliche. Add to the fact that whenever he goes off TOTUS his act goes all to heck and the effect is quite jolting.
In any case, as Rome burns, and The Dear Leader continues to overexpose himself with press conference after town hall meeting, the magic is wearing off. Footage of one of his most recent one looked more soporific than mesmerizing. The folks were just sitting there waiting for him get it over with. There was no cheering or fainting in the aisles.
His recent presser was awful. He was just trying to run out the clock and fill the empty space with empty words. If that were not bad enough, his incredibly stupid and petty Gates gaffe at the end blew up his godlike image for good and all. He groin-kicked his “white guilt” voting bloc AND knocked himself off Mt. Olympus.
Again, he would never have got this far were it not for the MSM carrying his train and refusing to investigate him.
Those ssssssssss sounds drive me to tourettes syndrome and I have to change the channel!

We must be very careful in our hopes for 2010 and 2012. That man is very dangerous and between what appears to be hypnosis and blatant fraud (ACORN), he can still steal elections.

I’ve actually tried listening to his speeches a few times. Never managed to listen longer than a minute.
I’m thankful for the people who post summaries. I would never be able to do that.
I’ve always wondered about the exaggerated pauses in his speeches. I can’t believe the teleprompter can’t keep up. I used to find it irritating. Since I stopped watching Obozo way before the election last year, the irritation went away.
I have done a fair bit of reading about NLP, and a bit of training, too.
What I have skimmed in this .pdf file appears credible. I will be reading it in-depth over the next couple days.
Barack using NLP for nefarious ends? He wouldn’t be the first. I can think of another foreigner who became leader of a powerful country within living memory who used NLP principles to great — evil — effect.
NLP is powerful and NLP works because most people cannot spot it for what it is.
The trick is NOT to watch AND listen at the same time.
Both must be happening for Hussein to work his magic.
If you just hear the speech, your mind can dissect the flaws in logic.
Part of it is the back and forth of his head between teleprompter screens—that’s part of the mesmerizing process.
Another part is the obvious hand gestures.
Another part is the assault on logic, i.e.: Some say this, some say that, but I say a third way. The choices he lists are false to begin with, so he easily leads an uninformed audience to what he wants them to believe.
Just isolate either of the two sense mentioned above when viewing his speeches. It becomes readily apparent that he is a highly trained speaker in this techinique.
That is precisely why he HAS to have a teleprompter at all speeches. The script is written in a certain way, and reaches maximum effectiveness on the audience when the script is followed exactly as written.
Remember, Obama doesn’t believe any of what he is saying. He is used to getting by on his BS skills—they have served him well in life. He is highly trained in the Alinsky tactics and in the Cloward Piven strategy. That is why every issue has to be a CRISIS that must be solved, and there are VILLAINS standing in the way of “real progress”. People are lead to see what they WANT to see with Obama, not what is really there.
That is why he has been trained and positioned for his present job. Who he is fronting for is the real story of his Presidency. And that has yet to be revealed.
Now, who are his equally evil friends (Shere Khan = Rhaam, Pelosi, Dodd, Axelrod, Frankin, Soros, ?)?

Then there are those of us with “spiritual eyes” who have always seen him for what he really is. It is amazing to us how he has swayed so many especially in light of the fact that he is a truly stupid individual with seemingly NO education. For someone who has so much “academic acumen” he is a real dufus, of course I don’t believe for one second he is as educated as they would have us believe.
With all that said I do realize that much like satan his deceptive ways are effective on some despite the lack of rationality.

Actually, NLP works quite well on intelligent people. IMO it isn’t a matter of intelligence or unintelligence to make NLP do its trick: it works on either equally well.

You’ve heard of Anthony Robbins, ay. Self-made squillionaire who sells those tapes/cds on infomercials?
His program — which undoubtedly works for many people — is nothing more nor less than a cut-down subset of NLP, or “Neuro-Linguistic Programming”. He’s just pulled a few useful bits out of the wider techniques, given them a brand, and marketed them successfully. And, for those people who buy his tapes/CDs and diligently follow them, a significant number of them will have success.

I do believe that is the case. I never watch TV or listen to the radio and only get my news in written form (sorry El Rushbo, I only read your website, but do not listen to the show - no radio).

I agree but ... since I first read it last year, the evidence in favor of it being correct has just continued to pile up.
We're conservatives, we don't need anyone to do our own thinking for us. Read it, observe whether it matches reality or not and make up your own mind.

An excellent question that would be easy to over-simplify in answering. But here's an extract from the .pdf file that puts it nicely into a nutshell:

This hasn't ever been brought up clearly in a cultural context. Regardless of whether Obama/Soetoro is a Muslim now, he was a raised a Muslim. It is always a deadly insult to gesture with the left hand (which is only used for wiping one's bottom). Always. In Indonesia, with Lolo Soetoro as his father, he would most certainly have that pounded into him, one way or another.
President Bush couldn't care less same as anyone else not raised in Muslim society could care less. Obama/Soetoro is different.
