I’m delighted to know that I’m not alone in this affliction.
I used to have friends that would invite me over a day early before hosting large parties to find out if their home had fleas. The fleas would never bite them but they would surely bite me. They were wonderful friends in many ways, so I didn’t mind.
I was once in a church softball league and spent one game on the bench being chewed alive by mosquitoes. The pastor and I were the only two reserves on the bench and I commented to him “I wish women liked me as much as mosquitoes do.”
“Doesn’t matter,” he replied. “They both sting.”
