Those dogs snap. They’re untrustworthy.

Bred specifically for violence and "gameness", it is in their DNA.

you can't undo DNA.

A trait reflected in their defenders.

Dogs are what their masters make them. If you mistreat, starve, brutalize, and train it to be vicious, it will be.

You could do the same to a Lab or a Golden Retriever, arguably two of the most gentle breeds out there.

If a specific, INDIVIDUAL dog is vicious and poses a danger to people, fine - humanely remove it.

PEOPLE are the problem, not the dog. I have known many owners with “Pit Bulls” and those dogs are the same as any other dog. Maybe they’re a bit on the tougher side, but the ones that I’ve encountered have been loving, loyal animals that have NEVER hurt anyone.

The term “Pit Bull” is sorta like “Assault Rifle” - it’s deliberately misleading, calculatedly threatening, and stupid terminology with an agenda behind it, designed to frighten the uninformed and stampede the herd.

And for the record, whenever I hear talk of “eradicating an entire breed”, my hackles go up. If I were a “Pit Bull” owner, there’d be some SERIOUS problems for ANYONE trying to take my dog(s) for “eradication”. And I do mean serious problems.

Where do we draw the line with these stupid laws and equally stupid lawmakers? For that matter, do we even draw the line anywhere, anymore?

I know I do.
