He does appear to be `reaching for the gold` doesn’t he?
Well, that’s another reason we should do away with the whole gerrymandering system. Our system is so corrupt.
Remember, this state (as others) has had citizen initiatives annulled by their (s)tate Courts.
i.e.: thanks for voting, go away.
Politicans are in office because the people elected them. What can you conclude when the likes of Frank, Murtha, Boxer, Murray, Kennedy.... are repeatedly elected to office?
No viable alternative choice (weak conservative movement), ignorance, apathy, all of the above....
The situation we are in now is 100% a reflection the electorates mood. Until you can change the hearts and minds of the people, nothing will change.
Right now the conservative movement is seeing a resurgence. I hope the Right doesn’t screw it up like last time they went from the “Contract with America” to just a bunch or power drunk politicians.
Just don’t throw him out on his a$$...he’ll like that.
If the R didn’t put much effort into the race, which is probably the case, those numbers aren’t representative of what a real race might look like.
The Cook Partisan Voting Index has the district at D+14. It would take one hell of a Republican to overcome that. OR a lot of anger at Barney and a split vote on the left. Unlikely either way.
I’m predicting that we’re going to see some surprises in 2010, with some household names in supposedly ‘safe’ districts being sent home on both sides of the aisle, but there needs to be a heck of a groundswell on the ground in the district and it’s hard to gauge that and it’s way too early anyway.
Frank, however, is the poster boy for Dem hubris and I’m not sure of the numbers in his specific district, but I do know that in liberal NY, the number of people against Obamacare outnumber the people for it. The arrogance with which he dismisses opposition COULD tick off enough normally sympathetic voters enough to send him packing. But, let’s keep in mind that these are Democrats, so let’s not get our hopes up.
“Gerrymandering” - a system under which the politicians pick their voters, rather than the other way around.
Earl Henry Sholley - My father went to talk with him when he came to visit about a month ago. Just wanted to hear his point of view even though my father moved to Florida. We all want Frank out and he seemed impressed with this man’s vision even though he also felt he still had that political edge to him. Guess its a salesman type feature of these guys.
Anyway, check him out and spread the word. We need to support getting Frank out of office.
Rush just asked that question of Barney and proposed "Uranus" as the answer.
It is a conundrum. Clearly, you are not represented.
Thought Barney’s district would butt up against the shore since he loves seamen(sp-on purpose).
“Anyway, check him out and spread the word. We need to support getting Frank out of office.”
Thanks, I will.
And we should all try and do this. This is a disgrace.....
There is no hope for Massachusetts.
There is a National Term Limits movement...join it and limit their terms of office.
That’s nothing compared to the mischief that will happen after the ACORN-run 2010 census.
“Earl Henry Sholley - My father went to talk with him..”
On a serious note - do you think he has a chance of winning?
I just find it so hard to believe Frank keeps getting reelected - he’s such an arrogant jerk..
Well, after seeing his statements at his town hall - one can only hope.
My father is pushing hard for Sholley to get elected. He is posting his information everywhere and Sholley is getting support from across the nation. He told my Dad when they met that he is receiving donations from all over the country. My Dad was hoping that he had a little hand in that.
All I can say is post his name as an opponent to Frank and lets see what we can accomplish!
Well, after seeing his statements at his town hall - one can only hope.
Correction: After seeing Barney Frank’s statements (what an arse) one can only hope that Mass has had enough of this guy. He is arrogant!
