My wedding ring slipped off at South Pointe, HI in about 20 feet of water. A spearfisherman found it about half an hour later.

My father-in-law found his wedding ring out in his front yard more than a year after losing it.

I looked at wedding rings once...While my watch was being cleaned.

I lost mine about 3 months after the wedding on the golf course. That was 8 years ago and I still hear about it.

Nice story. About 5 years ago I was standing in a cold glacial pool on the precipice of a waterfall in western Maine when a horsefly bit me. I slapped unthinkingly at the sudden pain and likely as a result of the cold water, my wedding ring went flying off into the pool, somewhere along its granite rock border.

I was quite upset and went searching through the silt and rocks and rushing water, looking for any kind of a glint in the bright sun. My wife couldn't find it either, and we were both getting a little cold (the water temperature was no higher that 60°F).

After about 20 minutes I was about to give up when my eye caught a flash of color on a ledge between two large rocks on the side of the pool, and I swear, just like in LOTR I reached my hand in and pulled the ring into my palm. I looked at my wife and smiled and, of course, immediately offered: "My precioooooossssss!" We had a few good laughs about it later.

I lost TWO wedding rings in the same river. Man, talk about getting in trouble for that. Two canoe trips.

First one I lost pulling a kid out of the current (she can't be too mad at me for that). Second time, my wife specifically told me to take my ring off and leave it in the car. Didn't listen. Talk about a sick feeling when I felt it come off my finger.

3rd ring, my daughter broke fast-pitching softballs to me.

I think I'm done with rings.

I purposely bought the cheapest ring I could find. Spent $60.00 on it 24 years ago. I figured that I would have lost it long before now. I’ve dropped it numerous times, including down a heat duct, lost it raking leaves and had to empty out all the bags, crushed it flat under steel toed boots...twice and it had a big dent in it from catching on a bolt on a trailer hitch.
