I remember when Tecce’s entrance was in an alley [can’t recall off what street now] and if you ordered “Joe’s coffee” cheap table wine came in a coca-cola bottle covered with aluminum foil. No IDs were ever checked. Food was excellent, cheap and bountiful. Glad to know he is still alive. Those were good days. ;)
I worked there for years so I go tot know many of the owners of the restaurants and businesses.
Shame it’s changed and when the old guys tell me how it used to be with kids running around and how the community was it breaks my heart as well as there’s
couple of years ago someone knocked the head off columbus and many older folks were telling me that no one dared to have done anything like that back on the day.
The feast of st anothony is a tradition going back many years and believe this or not but some of the new yuppies in the area complained that the street was closed.
locals answer to them was
if you don’t like it then move away as we don’t want you here.
same as southie which was an old Irish neighborhood, now yuppies move ion to be near the city and so they can see the city lights.
course they forget that those lights they like use energy , something they are supposed to be against
