Perhaps I'm just being "nit picky", but IMHO the first family should be attired in what might be described as "business casual" (at a minimum) when traveling on government transport. I don't believe they should be looking like they've just spent the last 6 hours in an amusement park.

No, I am with you. Once they get to their vacation home would be the time to kick back. From a book I am reading it advises one to think of several things when it comes to “first impressions”. It suggests that you “Prepare to be read”:
Who will I see?
What is my objective?
How should I look?
How do I get there and back?
Where should I go and what should I do?
How should I act?
What should I say?
Often the first family has a ragtag appearance.
