She said that the big danger came from catching something else while your defenses are down, such as a bacterial infection. Many of the bacteria are pretty much drug resistant now. She said that you needed several days after your fever returns to normal for your immune system to rebound, so don't go out and get exposed to something else.
This is also true with the regular flu vaccine. Very few people die from the flu. What they die from is a secondary infection, usually pneumonia. However, healthy people are not at risk.
