Serious side - if you meant the question where could you be directed to find ways to make money, you’re right, 99.99% places you find ON the net are probably scams.
Off the top of my head (the place where I store most of my ideas) you could:
1. Start your own business in your town teaching people at their home or place of work on how to use computers, seeing as how most people grossly under utilize their equipment.
This could be software specific, or hardware, or both. Idea is that being at a person’s place of work or home you are dealing with their ‘stuff’. Not some class they sit in and where an instructor drones and they drive off to find themselves with different versions of sw or hw.
2. If you are database or SS savy, create some mockups (then ask for payment later) directories or calendars for churches or agencies (not ACORN ;)) or even government outfits and show them how much better it could look, then either do it for a fee or teach them how to do it for a fee.
3. Find sources of funding for local organization or government via your labor and searching, show them teasers, and charge them for the service.
4. Target an organization, agency, or business, do statistical analysis, lots of stuff is on the web, run some preliminary findings (teasers) and say, hire me and you can get reports like this.
I’ll do it for $10.00.
