Me thought they were called the Cincinnati Redlegs back then. That they changed their name to “Reds” just a few years back???
The Redlegs name was from the '50s when they didn't want to be associated with communism. Silly change because they should have insisted the Communists change their color and nickname. :-).
Note the Yankee manager's name. Apparently the '50s wasn't the first time Joe McCarthy beat up on Reds.
