Another Failed Presidency

Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson.

In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China.

Pretty much sums up the way I feel. I hate to see anybody fail, but the country is more important than any individual.

And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people.

He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them.

This article sums it up. This is obvious. People do not trust him. There seems to be no alliance to the United States.

If “failed” only meant “no lasting negative impact to this country”, then I’d be all for it. Unfortunately he is on track to do exactly what Wilson and LBJ did, and that was succeed at have a long lasting negative impact to this country.

I agree that he is failing, but I don't necessarily agree that he'll be voted out in 2012. The GOP has to put up a credible candidate to defeat him, not an "It's my turn" candidate like Dole or McCain. The Democrats will turn out for Obama to avoid having another white, male GOP president. Of course, if the GOP candidate is a certain, white female...

As I keep saying, he is only a failure if you mistakenly believe he is trying to do what is right for America. He is successful beyond measure at destroying us which was his real purpose to begin with. The lack of a second term will be fine with him if he can accomplish enough destruction in the first term. Not being reelected will just mean that he is set free four years earlier so he can enjoy life without responsibilities. He needs to get on with enjoying all that ill gotten wealth that is being piled up for him. Electing Obama was like paying for a contract hit...on yourself.

I think the major danger in 2012, and even in 2010, will be that the Criminal Party will forcibly rig the elections, and may even practically lock out America from the ballot in 2012. I would not wholly discount the possibility that they will attempt to assassinate a Republican Senator in some state with a Democratic Governor in order to maintain the 60 seat super-majority in the Senate — they will almost certainly make offers to retire that “cannot be refused” in some such cases.

-By a group of hit-men led by soros.

It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper

Way too party line “Republican good, Democrat bad” for me. The truth is, except for Reagan (who himself had alot of failures and didn’t quite live up to the promise he had as would be expected), we haven’t had a decent President since maybe Eisenhower. I do agree that Nixon would’ve gone down as a decent POTUS if not for Watergate, since he cannot be blamed for Vietnam. Really, we had a few excellent Presidents (Wilson excluded of course, he was basically Obama and Bush II conjoined) early in the 20th century than a heaping mound of garbage from Hoover to Obama with the sole exception of Reagan who was in many ways the modern version of Cal Coolidge.

I don't know about Nixon. He was for centralizing & took us completely off of the gold standard. Then when he leaves office he gets a living place courtesy of the Rockefeller's.

“Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson.”

Absolutely untrue. Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency in the entire history of the United States.

I am glad that Hitler failed in his bid to spread national socialism to the world and take our freedom. I am glad that Stalin failed in his bid to spread soviet socialism to the world and take our freedom. I will be happy beyond words if Obama fails in his bid to spread a compromise between the two versions of socialism to the world and take our freedom.
