Harold Camping would agree about 2012 being the end of the world.
I often wonder if the fascination with end time prophecies reflects a deeper fear arising from the current sickness of Western Civilization’s populations.
They Mayans planned to party on 2012 by sacrificing a young virgin, and eating a few enemies. Things happen over the years, and plans go awry, but seldom do they get this misconstrued.
Waste of a perfectly good virgin.
This will be rejected by some folks in Rainbowarts.
The "money shots" in these disaster flicks are way cool.
I loved the scenes from the global warming disaster pic "Day After Tomorrow," where Los Angeles gets destroyed by tornadoes and NYC gets wiped out by a giant tsunami. The wave itself, and the flooding of the streets were really convincing. (The movie was really stupid, but it did have some great effects.)
Here is the only clip I could find of those scenes on YouTube -- whoever posted it put a heavy metal music score to the clip, but the footage is there.
Yeah, some of them seem to be looking forward to it.
Yep. This one looks to be the same. Something to watch for some really great effects, an interesting, if somewhat goofy, story. And never to be watched again. Kinda like the last three Star Wars movies.

I dunno. These people look pretty smart:

It's okay. They'll be in seventh-grade by then.
I was really looking forward to that aircraft carrier.
Not the end of the earth.
Just a complete reversal of the magnetic poles of the Earth.

Always set doomsday out at least 20 years. Close enough to sell books, but far enough off so folks will have forgotten by that time.
