I would assume a fire in a brand new car gets investigated bigtime by the insurance company.
These are extremely rare.
Could be risking a felony charge when the find evidence of arson.
Most legit car fires are in older cars ... either leaves accumulated in the ventilation system if you park outside and the car is susceptible to that (sparked by blower fan), dash fires wherein wiring goes bad, or fuel related underhood fires... pretty much in that order. The only legit car fire I’ve seen start was a 1980’s British car ... dash wiring...
